Everyone’s definition of attractive is different, but typically everyone wants their partner to be both loving and attractive. It’s the “full package.”
So they care because they want you to have both, they want the best for you. So long as you find him attractive, that should be good enough.
Algebra came easy to me. I came to realize even in elementary school we were doing algebra even if they didn’t use that name. Simple arithmetic like 2 + 5 = ? Is algebra if you think of the ? As X.
Then it’s 2 + ? = 7.
After that, at least to me, it’s order of operations and just moving things around.
That’s the “new math”? That’s just how I always have done it. I’ve kicked ass at math because things were a logical progression and order of operations. I could always transform something down to simpler to calculate pieces.
It’s put me at odds with some managers, until I got high enough where it became a target and I could determine the path to get there.
I hated managers who wouldn’t tell me the why, because I’d inevitably hit something that doesn’t line up with my training and I’d have to apply the why’s to determine what to do.
I weirdly love reading code and figuring out what it’s doing. Debugging is cathartic.
It might take a while and I might be cussing up a storm saying, wtf is this shit? Why the fuck would you do it this way? Why the fuck did you make this convoluted for no reason?
Right now it’s unfucking some vibe coded bs where instead of just fixing an API to get the info we needed accurately, it’s trying to infer it from other data. Like, there is a super direct and simple route, but instead there are hundreds of lines to work around hitting the wrong endpoint and getting data missing the details we need.
Plus letting the vibe add so much that is literally never used, was never needed, and on top of that returns incorrect information.
I unironically love it.
My mentality that has helped (before I worked in retail and dealt with hundreds if not thousands of people a day) was realizing that they will probably think about me just as much as I think about them in a few hours. Which is not at all.
There is a little nihilism of “nothing in this conversation matter” mixed with I learned I kind of like people. The vast majority of people are nice.
ADHD, my hobby is collecting hobbies.
I grew being told I was smart. And to be fair, I am. I always grasped things quick and got through school without much effort.
But what it really ended up being was undiagnosed ADHD.
But when I had to really focus and stick with something for an extended period of time I always struggled. Especially when I lost the structure of being forced to go to school every day.
Im 35 this year and I never expected to be able to hold down a relationship, I had flings but nothing stuck. It wasn’t until other things in life going that I rekindled a missed connection from years past. It was only 2 years ago and now she and her daughter live with me.
As for hobbies, I really wish there was a better way to do it than owning all my own stuff. Communal woodshops and auto shops that were more easily accessible. Then hacker spaces for the more niche things. But I know that’s a resource that’s more accessible around cities.
I like the Slate. Maybe a touch longer in the hood than I’d like. But nice none the less.
Hyundai is finally starting to win me over, I’ve so long overlooked them from their old reputation, but they’ve been putting out some good cars for a bit now.

I mean, on one hand I see their point of view that it was a project that was poorly managed and led to her death.
On the other hand, this is in part HER art. So it feels weird to bury something that she helped create, cared about, and showcases her particular vision. I feel that it’s better to be released and to bring to focus her particular talents and artistry. Let it be a celebration of her work and vision.
The vast majority of my furniture is solid hard wood. It was purchased from a Habitat for Humanity restore or my grandmothers.
The other week I got a huge china cabinet for $35 that I put in the basement for a pantry. If I bought something new like it today. It would be over $1500 or $2000 easy.
I’d work on cars. And my house. It feels like I’m fighting entropy, I fix one thing and find 2 more problems in the process. But I know some of that is just the previous home owner doing a bunch of diy.
Learn to wood work and build furniture. I have a deep, deep loathing for flat pack furniture.
Garden. I’d love to have a proper garden.

I have techs I work with that keep wanting to climb the it ladder. I keep telling them to go deploy something at home. Build a network. Setup a separate DNS and DHCP server than your router.
If you work with Microsoft. It might still be good to spin up an AD domain just so you know what that’s like.
If someone walked in saying they did even those basic things, I think theyd be more experienced than most people that walk in the door.
I like monero. Privacy is important and there really isn’t another way to pay online anonymously.
I wish there was an easier way to do it though and more places accepted it.
